What I would add is that you should buy a teacher not just a dealer; kick her tires so to speak. Ask to see what she has knit; what kind and how many differernt yarns does she use? How well is the items finished? Does her work inspire you? Ask if the lessons are hands-on, how many and what projects? You can buy a machine almost anywhere on the web but when you buy a good teacher, you are buying her experience (mistakes she has made and you won't have to) and her knowledge of yarn and the potential that is the chemistry between yarn and the machine.

Taitexma Knitting machines are basically Brother-clones. I sold and taught on Brother Knitting Machines for 25 years so I am glad to have these machines available. They offer a 4.5mm punchcard and a 9mm punchcard machine. Ribbers are available for both machines also.
